Every day think of something you can do to get the blood pumping. Always take the most energetic option if you have a choice: walk up stairs instead of taking the lift (elevator), and even walk up escalators if you can. Take a bike ride instead of using the car for short distances, or park the car some distance away from your destination and walk the rest of the way.
WORK IT OUT
Get outside in the garden and do some physical digging, raking or shovelling soil. Research has shown that an afternoon spent gardening uses as much energy as casual cycling or walking, and the whole body gets a workout, as you are lifting, stretching and occasionally weightlifting.
