Irish Drink Recipes

Hot Buttered Rum.

You will need for 16 persons: 6 tablespoons soft 1 bottle dark rum brown sugar pat butter.

1 pint boiling water ground cinnamon.

2 bottles cider.

1 Put the sugar and boiling water into a porcelain pan.

2 Heat, stirring constantly, and slowly add the cider.

3 When this mixture comes to the boil, add the rum and the butter.

4 Spoon the mixture into mugs and sprinkle the top with cinnamon.

Hot Toddy.

You will need for 10-12 persons:

2 thinly sliced fresh 4 tablespoons sugar lemons 1 stick cinnamon 6 cloves 4 pints boiling water.

1 bottle whisky.

1 Stud the lemon slices with three cloves each.

2 Pour the whisky, sugar and cinnamon into a pan.

3 When this nearly comes to the boil add the water.

4 Put the spiced lemon slices into mugs and pour the mixture over them.
