It is also important to begin vitamin and mineral therapy during Microcurrent Stimulation treatment. All patients in my practice begin the Macular Degeneration Formula (One packet twice a day) and the Ocular Function Spray three sprays under the tongue twice a day.

One study that included patients with ARMD showed impressive results. The average improvement for patients who used Microcurrent Stimulation for two to seven years was 2.125 additional letters read on the Snellen chart. Patients also reported that their vision was brighter. A similar group who did not receive Microcurrent Stimulation treatment had a loss of 7.1 letters over the same time period.

No discussion of Microcurrent Stimulation would be complete without mention of the pioneering work of John Jarding, an optometrist in Hot Springs, South Dakota. His search for a way to help his patients with ARMD led him to begin this work over ten years ago, when very few had heard of it. He presented it to the scientific community and many of us have been very active in attempting to bring this technique into mainstream medical care.

Is Microcurrent Stimulation for you?

It is hard not be impressed with the results of this treatment, especially for a condition regarded as hopeless by conventional medicine. You may well be wondering if this is something for you to consider doing. I would like to offer this guidance. People who have had serious deterioration, so that their vision is 20/400 or worse, or those with wet form ARMD who have had bad effects from laser surgery can also benefit but improvement in vision will be much slower. Those who are newly diagnosed and have a small loss in acuity will most likely respond the best. Individuals who have had cataract surgery should consider this therapy since ARMD often follows cataract surgery. The next thing to consider is your commitment. Once you embark on Microcurrent Stimulation therapy and have realized improvement in your vision, you will need to continue doing it several times weekly. Those who have stopped the therapy have had their vision deteriorate. However, once you own the unit and learn the technique, this is not a hardship

The price of the unit is around $1500, although this can vary depending on how you obtain it. This is a one time purchase and it includes all the equipment needed for years of use. As of this writing, neither Medicare nor private insurance pays for the device or the treatment.

The wife of one of my patients (JS) writes this after her husband visited my office for his initial set of Microcurrent Stimulation treatments. Fortunately, I hear good news like this quite often.

We left for Florida the next day. Along the way he began to see the trees alongside the car on the highway. Later he saw a car ahead of us about 150 feet away. Since that day he has been able to see things on a day-at-a-time basis. He saw his face in a mirror, made a phone call with no help, and can pick out numbers on a calculator. He still sits close to the TV, but he can see many more details. He saw the red and green on a stoplight. Jacks distance vision, thus far, has progressed faster than his close vision. But, as he says, If it never progresses any farther… but holds where it is right now, hell be the happiest man on earth. We, and all our friends, are someone weve given your number to. Thank you for trying when the other specialists told us, Nothing can be done for ARMD at this time.

A new technique called Frequency Specific Microcurrent (FSM) has produced a dramatic improvement in treatment outcomes of macular degeneration. Instead of using basic generic frequencies which have a low level effect on the diseased eye tissue we now can use frequencies specific to the retinal tissue and the pathology. The energy is driven into the area needed for tissue repair.

The roots of Frequency Specific Microcurrent (FSM) date back to the early 1900s from Dr. Albert Abrams, who was the first physician to use calibrated instruments capable of detecting the radiations of living tissue. Dr. Abrams concluded that all matter radiates electromagnetic energy and the characteristics of the radiation depends upon the unique molecular structure.

Modern FSM utilizes hundreds of frequencies within the range of .01 to 999 Hz with varying intensities of 20 to 600 micro amps. Each tissue in the body has an individualized frequencies for example the retina has a frequency of 95 Hz and macula 137 Hz. Each type of pathology also has a frequency. Hemorrhage has a frequency of 18 and edema is 14.

FSM is frequency specific because the frequencies of the tissue and that of the pathology are matched with with two frequencies. For example hemorrhage in the macula the FSM treatment would use 18 Hz and 137 Hz. This coupled frequencies then matches the exact abnormalities that are present in the damaged tissue. The desired effect is to neutralize those frequencies that are in disharmony.

I have now explained three treatments for ARMD. These are homeopathy, chelation therapy, and Microcurrent Stimulation. At this step in the process of your healing, you need to select one of these as the final phase of your program to reverse your ARMD. You may find, eventually, that you can benefit from two or maybe all three techniques. Variables for this include the severity of your condition, the proximity of doctors who offer these treatments, and the amount of time and money you can spend. I urge you not to deprive yourself of these simple and effective techniques. The next chapter offers a review of the material in this blog as a way to solidify your program.
