Makeup for 35

How should I advise clients to change their cleansing routine for the Christmas party season? The key is good regular cleansing. Clients may be out partying with heavier make-up on so they need to make sure to take it all off their eyes, face and neck. To achieve this, the choice of cleanser is really important. In fact, it might be a good time for them to move from a wash to an oil, a milk to a cream or cream to a balm. Cleansing is all about textures.

Finding a cleansing texture that suits your client’s skin right now is the key for the foundation and building blocks of great skincare. Explain to her that it’s vital to ensure the canvas of her skin is squeaky-clean and well-prepped to take the final finish of moisturisers and make-up.

December is a very challenging time on our skin. Key factors include: less daylight, colder weather and less fruit and salads in our diet as we switch to hot meals, which often don’t include as many key vitamins. If we don’t change up our skincare then I believe the skin pays a very high price.

Look out for the new Nourishing Omega-Rich Cleansing Oil by Elemis, which emulsifies into a milk that melts away dirt and grime, leaving skin squeaky clean and conditioned.
