OUTDOORSY SKIN BRIGHT IS THE NEW BLACK GET THE KIT!

‘The rule with this trend is the stronger your colour statement the simpler the rest of your make-up should be,’ says MAC Senior Artist Debbie Finnegan. ‘Skin should be polished and flawless so your colour can really pop. Go powerful and sleek or bold and blurred, just make it bright.’ Skin this season is all about bagging a natural-looking glow.

The key is to apply a light base or concealer only to areas that need a little help. ‘This no make-up look is about creating a skincare-like radiance on the skin and adding warmth with a hint of peach,’ says Debbie. ‘Focus starts with skincare and priming the skin – MAC Strobe Cream is my absolute kit essential – then any colour added should appear as it is coming from behind the skin, staying clear of heavy, powdery textures which make skin look older.’

BOY BROWS

The secret to nailing the perfect boyish brow is to first establish where your brows should start and end. The pros’ trick is to hold an eyebrow brush from the corner of your nose up past your eye – this is where your arches should start. Then hold the brush from the corner of your nose to the outer corner of your eye – this is where your eyebrows should end.

MAXIM-EYES

Bring your peepers bang up-to-date by thinking smoky with a twist. ‘Shake things up by using exciting new rich metallic shades and textures, or by changing up your normal shape and adding a different style of liner,’ says Debbie. Knotty or spider-like eyelashes were present on all the runways, so don’t step out without adding oodles of chunky mascara or going full throttle by applying falsies to the top and bottom of your eyes for a retro doll-like look.
