Lucy Pargeter, 38 – Emmerdale’s troubled Chas Dingle – talks onscreen stress and Yuletide plans
So there’s a Christmas kiss in store for Chas with ex-husband Gordon…?
Yes! She’s not ready to jump into another relationship, but it’s that first love thing they’ll always have a connection and they’ve got Aaron together.

Then on-screen, I’ve been really het-up, but the storyline has been brilliant.
How do you unwind?
With red wine! Let’s just say I’m looking forward to Christmas!
How are you spending the holiday?
My partner Rudi and our daughter Lola, 10, would love to spend Christmas at our new house, but we’re surrounded by boxes so we may be elsewhere with family – or maybe we’ll jet off somewhere sunny!
What are you hoping to find in your Christmas stocking?
I don’t tend to buy slippers, pyjamas or underwear, so at Christmas I like someone to get me all the practical things I never get for myself.
What’s your festive viewing? Nothing too intense. I love Downton Abbey, or re-runs of anything old that you can fall asleep to, but still enjoy because you haven’t missed anything!
