Stuffed Pears

Very easy serves 4

100 ml/4 oz clear honey 125 ml/4 1 oz maple syrup 1 tbsp lemon juice 4 tbsp water 1/2 tsp ground cinnamon.

4 large pears 4 tbsp mincemeat.

Whipped cream, to serve.

15 minutes 1 hours.

Preheat the oven to 160‚°C/325‚°F/Gas Mark 3.

Gently warm the honey, maple syrup, lemon juice, water and cinnamon, stir well then pour into a glass jug.

Core and peel the pears. Using a sharp knife, cut a small slice off the bottom of each pear so that each one will stand up straight. Spoon some mincemeat into the centres, then stand them in an ovenproof dish. Pour the syrup mixture over the top, then transfer to the preheated oven. Bake, uncovered, for about VA hours, basting with the syrup from time to time, until cooked through.

Remove from the oven and transfer to individual serving plates. Serve warm, with generous spoonfuls of whipped cream.
