Brandy Drinks

The word brandy comes from the original Dutch brandtweijn meaning burnt wine. It is a distillation of wine, as gin and whisky and vodka and rum are distillations of grain. It is best to use the younger brandies for mixed drinks. Older brandies, mellower and more expensive are too good for mixing and are quite spoiled. Save those, slightly warmed, for after dinner.
