Kaye Walton, 31, married Dan Binney, 32, in St John The Evangelist Church in Otterburn, and at Le Petit Château, Northumberland KAYE SAYS ‘Originally, we wanted to marry in Italy, but shortly after our engagement, Le Petit Château opened and we knew it would be the perfect venue for us. The garden is a vibrant oasis, and when the sun is shining you’re transported to a charming villa in the South of France or deepest Tuscany.

The decor is rustically elegant, which was complemented by our choice of off-white flowers and romantic trails of green foliage. Just over the road is a quaint church, where a string quartet played as I walked down the aisle in my all-white, lace and organza dress by Paloma Blanca. The weather was cold, but easily forgotten as we filled the small church with lots of love, happiness and a few tears!
After our short ceremony, we walked to Le Petit Château, where guests were greeted with plenty of booze and delicious canapés – we served a choice of Cosmopolitan and Cherry Drop cocktails and Tyneside Blonde and Secret Kingdom ales, alongside mini cottage pies, arancini balls and Thai fish cakes. Dan and I both love Champagne, so we decided to stand the table plans upon various different fizz bottles. My mum made a gorgeous white, three-tiered cake, which was topped with two corks, posed as the bride and groom.’ MOST MEMORABLE MOMENT ‘Despite the cloudy start, the sun eventually broke through, transforming this small town of Otterburn into a Mediterranean utopia.’
