You can have a Civil, Catholic or Orthodox wedding in Zakynthos. For religious weddings you need to prepare the paperwork with your church. For Civil weddings you will need: Birth Certificates, Change of Name or Adoption papers if applicable. Divorce Decree or Death Certificate of spouse if previously married; Certificate of No Impediment issued by your local registry office this is only valid for three months from the issue date in Zakynthos. The documents need to be stamped with an Apostille stamp, which you apply for with the Foreign and Commonwealth Office (www.fco.gov.uk). The documents then need to be translated into Greek and presented to the Town Hall in Zante no later than four weeks before the wedding.
